5th official selection 2024




A shortlist of 61 films has been selected for the 5th Health for All Film Festival out of 940 entries received. WHO staff from all over the world participated in this preselection.

Please use the buttons below to access the 2024 YouTube playlists. Among the three main categories, one "GRAND PRIX" will be awarded for each list during the Awards Ceremony end of May. Access below to the four playlists related to Special Prizes: Universal Health Coverage (UHC); Emergencies, Migrants and Refugees Health; Better Health and Physical Activity, and Very Short Films. Another Special Prize, Student Film Prize, will be attributed to the overall selection of films for a project made by a student.

The public is encouraged to choose one of the films they would like to champion and comment about its story/topic, before the end of May 2024. Comments can be posted on their social media using #Film4Health or through the posts inserted in those YouTube playlists. Some comments from the public will be featured during the HAFF virtual Awards Ceremony at the end of May.

Important note: the films in this official selection are independent creative works and do not represent the views of the World Health Organization.

 

Category 1: Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

(3 - 8 minutes long)

Films about mental health, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), and other UHC stories linked to communicable diseases that are not part of the Health Emergencies category.

 

Category 2: Emergencies, Migrants and Refugees Health

(3 - 8 minutes long)

Films about health emergencies in the current humanitarian context, for instance, COVID-19, Ebola Virus Disease, disaster relief, and health in war zones. In addition to the main prize, a Special Prize for Refugees and Migrants Health will be awarded.

 

Category 3: Better Health and Physical Activity

(3 - 8 minutes long)

Films about environmental and social determinants of health, such as nutrition, sanitation, pollution, gender, and/or health promotion, or health education. In addition to the main prize, a Special Prize for Physical Activity and Health will be awarded.

 

Special Prize: Very Short Film

(1 - 3 minutes long)

Videos from 1 minute to 3 minutes long with a story in line with the content of the main three categories and/or the content of other special prizes described above.
